Depth profiles of potassium and its isotope ratio (K/K) in several forest soils

چکیده
Depth profiles potassium and its isotope ratio (K/K) were investigated in several forest soils from different geological and climatic backgrounds. The ratio was found not to be constant (0.0117 %) but varied appreciably from 0.0085 to 0.0167 % among different soils. Possible factors affecting variability of K/K values were considered by a multivariate factor analysis which suggested that aqueous parameters like humidity and pH might be a controlling factor in the surface soils. The amount (and probably chemical forms) of iron oxide may be another one influencing K/K values in mineral components at deeper

Effect of different land use on Potassium forms and some soil properties in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, Southwest Iran
The pasture and forest land use change to agricultural use can effect on many properties of the soil and its productivity. The present research aims to investigate various forms of K (soluble, exchangeable, non-exchangeable, and structural forms) and some soil properties in different land use of three areas including Choram, Kakan and Bahmaei in Kohgiluyeh and Buyer-Ahmad Province. Four profile...

Soil characteristics are affected by climate. Available potassium is one of the most important soil fertility indices. This study was conducted to determine the availability of potassium using Quantity- Intensity (Q/I) relationships in Vertisols of Isfahan and Chaharmahal-Va-Bakhtiari provinces with aridic and xeric moisture regimes, respectively. Soil mineralogy showed that smectite was the do...

Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) and rotational crops have been cultivated without potassium fertilizers for many years in southwestern Iran. Although potassium was removed from this soil, no response has been reported to K fertilizers by crops. This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of wetting and drying, and cultivation systems on potassium fixation in some Khouzestan soils. Th...

The presence of large amounts of calcium in the equilibrium system of calcareous soils of arid and semi-arid regions affects the chemical reactions of soluble and exchangeable phases. Exchange phenomenon is one of these chemical reactions in which calcium plays an important role. K-Ca equilibria are important equilibria in calcareous soils and may be an answer to many problems in soil chemistry...
